European Roulette

European Roulette is the game of ‘single zero’. It lacks the pocket of double zero. Therefore the payout is also less as compared to American Roulette.
The European Roulette table has a spinning wheel of 37 slots. The pockets are numbered from1 to 36 and the 37th pocket is numbered as ‘zero’.  The pockets are colored red and black and the ‘zero’ is colored green. The pockets size is all identical. The pockets are arranged mathematically. The players bet on the number of the pocket into which the ball will fall into. The roulette wheel is spun up and the ball dropped into the spinning wheel. The ball is thrown against the roulette wheel spin direction. The number on the pocket into which the ball falls is the winning number.
The betting part is a bit complicated. The whole of the rules of the game is composed in the betting part. The betting table has two parts, the ’Inside’ and the ‘Outside’. These serve different strategic purposes .Placing bets in the inside part is called ‘inside betting’ and placing bets on the outside part is called ‘outside betting’.
While inside betting, the player has to make bets that have to at least add up to the table minimum. The inside part has black and red pockets numbered 1 o 36 and a green ‘zero’ pocket. The different combination of bets available in the inside betting are-
  • When the player bets on a single number, it is called a ‘Straight up bet’. The payout is 35 to 1.

  • Placing a bet on two adjacent squares is called a ‘Split Bet’. The payoff is 17 to 1.

  • Betting on the three numbers of a row is called a ‘Street bet’. It pays 11 to 1.

  • ‘Line bet’ is a bet consisting of two street bets, that is six numbers. It pays 5 to 1.

  • ‘Corner bet’ allows the player to bet on four adjacent squares. It pays 8 to 1.

In outside betting, every single bet should match upto the table minimum. Outside betting does not include zero. The betting conditions for outside betting are:

  • ‘Dozens’ allows the player to bet on three squares which represent outcomes from 1 to 12, 13 to 24 and 25 to 36. The payout is 2 to1.

  • With a ‘High and low’ bet, the player can bet on two squares for the bottom half of the numbers (1 to 18 and 19 to 35). The payoff is 1 to 1.

  • When the player bets on two squares for red and black outcomes it is called ‘colors’ bet.

  • ‘Odd and even’ bet allows a player to bet on two squares representing odd and even outcomes.

‘Columns’ bet is placed on the three squares that are attached to the bottom of the inside table. This is a double bet.
