Sic Bo

Sic Bo is a game of sheer luck. It is simple to play but has a high house edge. It is basically an Asian (Chinese) dice game. It is played with 3 dices. It is very similar to roulette. The word ‘Sic Bo’ means ‘Dice Pair’. The player will just have to select a number or a combination of numbers.
Rules:
The player has his choice from many different types of bets based on the different combinations obtained with three dice. The game begins as and when the players place their bets by placing the chips. There are eight types of bets. The different bets available are:
1) 'Three of a kind' bet is one in which the player can place a bet on one number which must appear on all the three dices. It gives a very less chance of winning as the chance of obtaining the combination of same number on all the three dices is very low from among the 216 possible combinations. But the payout is 150 to 1.
2) A bet can be on a number which must appear on two of the dices. This is called a Two of a Kind. The percentage chance of winning is 5.82%. This pays 8 to1.
3) The player can bet that the same number from 1 to 6 will appear on all three dice. Such a bet is called 'Any Three of a Kind'. It pays 24 to 1. The probability is 6 put of 216. The percentage is 2.78%.
4) According to a 'Small', the player places bet on the number of the sum of the three dices to be equal to 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 excluding a Three of a Kind.
5) Similarly 'Big' also pays even money. The bet is placed that the sum of the three dices will be equal to 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, or 17 excluding a Three of a Kind.
6) On the gaming table, there is a wide area with the numbers 4 to 17 on them. These numbers correspond to the sum of the three dice. The player can place a bet on a number from 4 to 17 to be the sum of the three dice numbers. The payout table will be If the sum is 4, winning bets are paid 50 to 1;
  • If the sum is 5, winning bets are paid 30 to 1
  • If the sum is 6, winning bets are paid 18 to 1
  • If the sum is 7, winning bets are paid 12 to 1
  • If the sum is 8, winning bets are paid 8 to 1
  • If the sum is 9, winning bets are paid 6 to 1
  • If the sum is 10, winning bets are paid 6 to 1
  • If the sum is 11, winning bets are paid 6 to 1
  • If the sum is 12, winning bets are paid 6 to 1
  • If the sum is 13, winning bets are paid 8 to 1
  • If the sum is 14, winning bets are paid 12 to 1
  • If the sum is 15, winning bets are paid 18 to 1
  • If the sum is 16, winning bets are paid 30 to 1
  • If the sum is 17, winning bets are paid 50 to 1
7) There is another bet called Duo which pays 5 to 1. The player can be on two different numbers which must at least appear on two of the three dices. The combinations on which the bet can be placed are 1,2 or 1,3 or 1,4 or 1,5 or 1,6 or 2,3 or 2,4 or 2,5 or 2,6 or 3,4 or 3,5 or 3,6 or 4,5 or 4,6 or 5,6.
8) The last type is called One of a Kind. The player places a bet on one number which must appear on one, two or all the three dices. If the number appears on one of the three dices, the payout is even. If it appears on two of the three dices, then the player is paid 2 to 1. If it appears on all three, then the player is paid 3 to 1.
After the bets are placed, the three dices are rolled in a cage. The player can place multiple bets. When the dices rolls out, the outcome decides the winner and looser. The dealer then pays out the winners. The basic strategy of Sic Bo is to stick to the best odds. Its better to stick to the Small and Big bets as the house edge is reasonable.
